Guillaume Desmettre holds a Master’s degree in Contemporary Philosophy from Paris’ École Normale Supérieure (Ulm), and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and Political Science from St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas, where he was also Assistant Professor. He also attended the Universidad de Palermo in Buenos Aires (Political Science) and the Paris Sorbonne in 2019 and 2020.

Guillaume also studied piano and guitar. Pursuing his interest in classical music and culture, in 2020 Guillaume decided to obtain a Master’s degree in Management of Cultural Assets and Activities from the ESCP European Business School in Paris, and also attended Venice’s Ca’Foscari University (Cultural Management). He joined the festival’s production team in 2022 and was heavily involved in the management of the 2023 pilot edition.

Guillaume has been involved in several initiatives of community service and leadership. Following the 2015 earthquake in Port-au-Prince (Haiti), he volunteered for the construction of buildings, which saw him managing a team of fellow volunteers, evaluating business plans, and overseeing finances. Guillaume also volunteered as an English and math teacher to immigrant children under iACT, a Los Angeles-based international organization providing aid to victims of conflict and humanitarian crisis.  In 2016, Guillaume also founded and headed 4trailofhappiness, a non-for-profit association responsible for fostering institutional relations with NGO’s and governmental representatives from Poland, Rumania, Greece, Croatia, and Italy.
